How to Find Us (Multimap Link)

Once you reach junction 36 of the M6 there is a pleasant 25 minute journey to Bowness, following the A591.

Take the B5284 to Crook (past Plumgarths Farm Shop) which is sign posted "Hawkshead via ferry" and keep on the road for about 5 miles. As you drop down past Windermere Golf Club, keep following these signs to the ferry.

Sawrey Knotts, Far Sawrey from private drive

Take the car ferry across the lake and drive to the top of the hill passing 'Hawkrigg' on the left. About 200 yards further on, the road levels out and bends to the right. In front of you will see a cast iron fence (which is opposite Sawrey Knotts). Turn right into the entrance marked Sawrey Knotts. Follow the drive up to the front of the main house, and park facing the view.

If you miss the drive and reach the Sawrey Inn (a white building on the right) you have overshot by about 250 yards!
